Finally. My new site is ready for launch. So today is the day. I’m live!
I’ve created a multilingual website, since the internet is a global network. Also, it’s a perfect way to ‘force’ myself to train English. So please forgive my mistakes if you see them. Obviously, the madebystfn.com domain is for English and the madebystfn.com/nl domain for my native language; Dutch.
A new website needs a great logo. As long as I can remember I signed my drawings with the name stfn (Stefan without the vowels). And as an artist working on drawings and illustrations most of the time the pencil is my biggest friend. Put these two together and my logo makes sense. Don’t you agree? Before I came to this wonderful piece of work several sketches where made. These sketches where made with my Moleskin sketchbook and Moleskin pencil (+ a mechanical pencil to create a little bit of detail when necessary).
In the end, you’ve guessed it already I assume, the Moleskin pencil was a big inspiration for me. So I’ve taken the liberty to use a similar block pencil look. I used the perspective tool in Adobe Illustrator the create the depth of the pencil. Also the value of using a vector logo makes it flexible and scalable. Output in any raster image or scaling in size without jeopardizing quality. I love vectors.
And there you have it: a suitable logo for me ‘Stefan’ a.k.a. STFN.
The site is still a work in progress. Nowadays, nothing is finished from launch. Just take a look at your (i)phone, your computer or tablet and see the updates that keeps coming every day/week/month. I shall add some new things also in order get a better user experience (UX). Since I’m not specialized in developing websites it will take some time to build more features. So bare with me 😉 Of course I shall add new work to my portfolio and new articles for my blog also. That’s the main reason for having a site of my own.
Enjoy watching my work and surfing on my site. Greetings from the Netherlands.
